I’ve been looking at polaroids for a future project, and I decided to put this together. An illustrated view of the dimensions of a polaroid. Who knows, I may save someone from spending time with their ruler.
I am pretty picky when it comes to hip hop. I don’t listen to it often, so I make sure that when I do its awesome. Big fan of laid back beats and flowing lyrics, with a bit of an old school feel. I picked a few of my favorite tracks to introduce those who are interested to some solid underground hip hop:
Music For Airports was the first Eno album I ever listened to, and it has had somewhat of a profound impact on my ideas of simplicity and beauty. The song ’1/1′ is particularly beautiful. It could easily be the soundtrack to my life or anyone’s, but the surprising thing is that it fits flawlessly in airports. In airports, I always get this unique feeling of calm after I find my gate and have some layover time. There are so many stressed and rushing bodies all around, but I have absolutely nowhere to go, and nothing to do but wait and think about my destination. The people I’ll meet. The people I’ll leave. I get the slight feeling of nervousness, which then is subtly offset by thinking about how utterly alone I am in a place with so many people and I am okay with that. This song is the feeling explained.
I first heard of Robert Fripp after buying a Giles, Giles and Fripp album from the dollar vinyl bin in the library. Anyways, I love this video of him on some television program in 1979 demonstrating “frippertronics”, which happens to have an incredibly soothing backtrack.
If I come across something interesting, If I make something neat, if I see something inspirational, the chances are, it will make its way onto this site.
My Media Search is quite popular. It's a custom google search, that searches common file storage sites such as mediafire. It's a good tool to find albums, songs, and even fonts.
